At Mercy Commons, we want our children to know that Jesus is priority in their lives. We seek to provide an environment where they are loved and nurtured and can work this out in a creative, interactive, and age-appropriate way.

Parents, before any other institution, are responsible for the spiritual nurturing of their children.  It is our goal to partner with parents as they raise children to love and follow Jesus.

While parents provide a solid spiritual foundation, we supplement this with weekly lessons that aim to spark curiosity and teach about God’s character.  We value teaching even our youngest children the whole counsel of the Bible.

On a Sunday morning, your child will hear a Bible story, discuss what it teaches about God’s character, connect the story to Jesus’ sacrifice, and engage in fun activities.

We hope that the message the parents hear, and the lessons the children learn, will result in conversations that spark growth and life change.

Classes

  • Nursery & Toddler (1 – 2 yrs and fully potty trained)

Our littlest ones enjoy playing, reading, and singing throughout the morning.

  • Preschool (3yrs – 5yrs)

Preschoolers will engage with a Bible story, a brief lesson, worship songs, and fun activities.

  • Younger Elementary (Kindergarten – 2nd grade)

  • Older Elementary (3rd – 5th grade)

All elementary students will engage in discussion about a Bible story, memorize key passages, play on the playground, and worship.

Promotion – On the first weekend of September, our eligible school-aged children will be promoted to the next class.

Kids in Worship

Once a month, our adult congregation welcomes all children into corporate worship.  This is an opportunity for parents and other community members to demonstrate authentic worship.  Your children will stay with you until worship is over, then you will escort them to their regular classes.

Fun Sundays

On 5th Sundays and other special weekends, we have Fun Sundays.  Students in the preschool and elementary classes enjoy rotations on the back patio such as art, field games, and the bounce house.

Curriculum

In our preschool and elementary classes, teachers use The Gospel Project for Kids, a wonderful Christ-centered curriculum that teaches through the whole Bible, connecting each narrative to Jesus’ love and sacrifice.
