Mercy Commons is a place where anyone can come and experience the life-transforming love of Jesus, form authentic and encouraging relationships, and be empowered to love God and the people around them.

We love having newcomers join us on Sunday morning! We hope that you will feel welcomed, meet great people, and experience God’s presence. Please stop by the Connections Table after church: Our volunteers and pastoral staff would love to meet you and thank you for coming.

What can you expect once the Gathering starts?

We begin our gathering with worship through music. We sing about Jesus, who he is and what he has done for us. A band leads worship using contemporary songs, hymns, songs from other churches, original songs that musicians in our community have written.

Worship

We Celebrate Jesus.

Jesus is the only one who can change lives, so he is the center of all of our sermons. Many times we preach through the text verse-by-verse, and occasionally we will focus on a specific subject found in the Bible. To hear a message, visit the sermon page. Every Sunday we teach from the Bible, and the Bible is all about Jesus. We believe that faith comes from hearing scripture, God’s word, so we will preach it as much as possible.

Preaching

We Preach Jesus.

We believe in “the priesthood of all believers” that is a fancy way of saying that at times during the Gathering a member of Mercy Commons may share an encouragement, prophecy, word of knowledge or offer prayer for a specific person, situation or opportunity for physical healing. God speaks primarily through His word but also uses His people to speak through what are known as gifts of the Holy Spirit. After the Gathering there is usually a time to respond through communion, receiving prayer or meditating on what God has said. We will have trusted leaders available to offer prayer should you need it.

Engagement

We anticipate the Spirit to speak.

We believe that it is a privilege and a responsibility to partner with parents as they actively disciple their Kids in the way of Jesus. Our kids meet each week in various rooms throughout the YMCA, including the Kids Zone to the right of the Gym. As you walk in the front door, you will see a bright orange kid’s check-in station. This station is where someone will be available to answer your questions and help you check your child into kid’s ministry if you wish to do so. To learn more, visit the kid’s ministry page.

Kids

We Partner with Parents.

We believe that God has called us to be more than just a Sunday meeting. We are a community that seeks to follow Jesus together, engaged in each others lives. After every Sunday we gather for coffee and conversation to the rear of the YMCA. Here you can meet with some of the pastors and leaders who would love to hear your story. You can also learn about Next Steps and learn more about our community. We also meet in homes scattered around Fullerton. We call these Life Groups. There is also the opportunity to joins us at “Let’s do Lunch” where some friendly people meet in Fullerton to have lunch and get to know you.

Community

We Live Like Jesus.
